Default CR-1 radio and CDC-1 player installation

I recently purchased a used CR-1 radio and CDC-1 remote player to replace the 'aftermakret' radio in my RSA.

(Yes, I know it is a lousy radio, but I wanted to bring the car back to it's as correct build. Who listens to their radio anyway!)

I am looking for the following information:

1. The CR-1 radio does not have a manual;
2. The remote 6CD changer mod CDC-1 P/N 964.645.111.00 with one CD magazine does not have a manual;
3. I do not have the communications cable.

Can anyone provide me with an original copy or xerox/electronic copy or either/both manuals? I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for original manuals.

What type of communications cable do I need? Does anyone have a spare/left over cable from a stereo upgrade? (I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for an original cable.)

Any special installation tips?

Email me at autox@optonline.net

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Marc, Did somebody help you out with this one? If not, I'm reasonably sure I've got the radio manual which I can copy for you. Also, I installed the remote CD changer and purchased a cable off ebay for the installation. One big question though: Do you have the code to unlock your radio? If not, I'm not sure what you can do.
Talk to you later, Jeff 94 cab

Marc,

I added the CR-1 and the CDC-1, both made by Alpine, into my 1991 C2.

I have both the manuals and made my own cable, part of it, and purchased an adapter cable (18") that plugs into the Radio. Both connections are DIN format, but they differ in pin count. The CDC-1 is a nine pin, while the CR-1 is a thirteen pin. The CDC-1 is wired in the standard Alpine format, not like the Honda version which swaps two conductors to make it incompatible with a standard Alpine head unit or the opposite.

I think I still have the wiring diagram and the parts list. I can scan the manuals and send them to you in .pdf format.

The factory cable lists for $130US. Ouch!

Give me a few days and I’ll send it to you.

Thanks all, I received a copy of the owners manual yesterday. Thanks Don!

Still looking for an original copy.
