If it is dead, make sure you find a used unit. Price from Porsche for an '89 controller? over 5K.....

Yep, saw that and cursed myself for my stupidity. On the lookout for a used one if the one I borrow ends up working.

Car is out for paint now so I'll report back in a week.

The used ones are rare and way too expensive. I had broken pins on mine and luckily Frazer Parts in the UK fixed it for me. Only company I could find that could. I had bought another one that was listed as untested. Unfortunately it does not seem to work even though I had it checked out and it was very clean.

Sometimes I wish we could buy reproduction parts for our cars (tail lights, Im looking at you!)

Hopefully some company will start doing that eventually

The 964 tail lights that you can now buy from Porsche were (just recently) completely reworked.

Lorenfb seems to know a lot about ECU and electronics, he may be able to repair your module?

His website is http://www.systemsc.com/index.html

No affiliation

Good luck

You could send your ABS ECU to ECU Doctors they do a quick turnaround repair usually for less than the cost of replacement at least certainly for new!
Come to think of it I have a spare 964 ABS ECU reasonably sure it's for a C2 not sure if there is a discernible difference...Bert

C2 and C4 modules are different as the C4 module also controls the PDAS for the AWD system. Thanks for the offer
