Default 89 C4 PDAS indicator lights question

RESP from a rebuild and not a lot of familiarity miles with a cC4, I'm trying to understand the lights for the PDAS. The pump charges up with the key turned a bit, good. If I'm running the engine, the lights are off. If I activate the PDAS, I have a yellow light at the switch which flashes as well as a 4wd green schematic that flashes on my dash cluster. Question, should either of them go solid and not flash when fully engaged?

I've only ever seen flashing, I only get the yellow light and it's not massively safe to pay close attention when it's activating though

btw the green lamp on the dashboard is usually not fitted by the factory so most people don't have it unless they've retrofitted the bulb, I think the factory stopped fitting the bulbs it as it was alarming the customers.

Ok, sounds like I'm normal then. Flashing usually provides the drive an alarm condition, but if it kicks out at 30, then I'm not sure why to flash in your face.

Indeed, normal behaviour although as alex has mentioned using the green light indicator is what some owners do too.
