It also says its a replacement for a YTZ10S which is what i have in my CBR600. I have a spare YTZ10S in the garage so i might see if its got enough ***** to crank the 964 over.

It seems that lots of folks are happily using little bike batteries in their 964's. So presumably these little batteries will not cause any issues with standard 964 electrics, starter motor, alternator etc.

Is the only disadvantage of little batteries that they will de-charge faster and hence might let you down when doing lots of short journeys?

Wow, that is incredibly small! Let us know how you get on with that.

From my eperience, Lithium batteries drop in performance in colder weather. However, attaching them to a load, e.g.switching on the lights, warms them up internally and they soon produce the full cranking current again.

Agreed.
My idea was to use a regular battery when it's cold and a lightweight one for track duty.
I don't see why you'd need a lightweight one for street use.
Easy enough to switch twice a year.

Well my battery got drained and it's time for a lightweight upgrade!

The Voltphreaks is expensive... The PC680 is cheaper and light enough. Anyone had problems running this battery during summer with AC/radio/etc? I'm guessing the alternator can handle that well enough? Really don't want to spend $800 for a battery...

Just out of interest I went with a standard Bosch S5 Car Battery Type 063,52ah,520cca. at 11kg. (instead of the stock type 096,70ah,640cca at 16kg.)

Saves 5kg up front and is cheaper. I have no aircon, but electric PAS and stereo. Been in for 9months now no issues.

I know it isnt the same as Lion etc, but also not the same cost, and no constant battery charger required, or discharge, etc.

(Stock RS battery is Type 063,41ah,360cca, at 11kg. But the Bosch S5 is in the same package size but up on power.)

When changing to a Lifepro or the like, what gauge cable and terminals do you need?

Is the one in the link correct to replace the factory earth cable?

As a cheaper lightweight option tho not in the same league as the LiFePO, I've been using one of these for about the last 3 and a bit years... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Starter-und-...f918b0&vxp=mtr http://www.fullriver.com/products/admin/upfile/HC20.pdf Fits in the rennline battery mount and bang for buck pretty impressive. I keep it on a trickle charger and it has performed really well, no issues.
