Unhappy Driver window problem any tips ?

My driver window works ok up-down but makes a strange sound like

a spring pinging or stretching!! I tried the manual cranking tool and get the

same noise.....anyone had a similar experience?

Could it be from winter damp?

TIA

Only thing really is to remove the door panel and check the toothed quadrant and the scissor arrangement. Making sure they are working freely and are lubricated at the hinge and contact points is key - will save the later expense of replacing the over worked motor. If the door glass is struggling to close fully then the riser is a good place to start. 20 years of water down the glass rests in the glass riser channel, rots the steel and the glass eventually tilts or drops altogether (as mine did). Let us know how it goes...

Page 1 of the PET catalogue - that silly looking hand crank with something like an M8 hex key on the end. Never used it myself...

Mine did the same and as Hi WInd suggests it was a loose bolt...door card removal required..got out the allen wrench (I think it was an 8mm) and tighten all bolts found on door..

I removed mine one at a time, cleaned threads and added blue loctite...I had that noise for years thought it was something serious and was quite happy to see it was just a slightly loose allen headed bolt..

... and use some lock-tite on it to save removing the door card twice

Default Driver window problem any tips ? UPDATE

So, i removed the door card, easy enough, but could not see anything obviously

making the noise none of the bolts were loose.

Not sure what to do next, leave it and hope for the best,or take it to my indy for his opinion?

So door card off ... Reconnect the window switches (both needed) and try moving window up/down
To See what is making the noise .. Or use that winder if switches not easy to reconnect...
The runners shd be greased where it's metal on metal
