Speedometer Light Bulbs...Which Ones?
Did a search to no avail but wondering if anyone can tell me which light bulbs are used for the speedometer.
I've gone to Pelican and there's the blue base bulbs at .9W or the beige base bulbs at 1.5W...
Thanks in advance!

If memory serves, the lights have different color backs. The speedometer uses the light bulbs with the gold /beige backs. I believe they are the 1.5w which is part number 999 631 027 90
When I had my speedo out to repair the odometer, I replaced all of my bulbs. I bought both the 1.5 and the 0.9w just to be safe but only used the 1.5.

Only three in the speedometer? Maybe I don't need bulbs after all. Just seems a little dim in some places around the dial...oh, well, just ordered up a handful of bulbs anyway...

I sure wish the correct wattage bulb was correctly delineated in the PET and Pelican catalog.

PET shows that the dials have 1.5W and 0.9W bulbs. As far as I can tell the 0.9W bulbs are the green base ones used for the warning lamps. There are a lot of these in the clock. The 1.5W bulbs are the yellow/beige ones that are used to illuminate the faces of the dials. I replaced all my original yellow ones (because some had blown) in all five dials with the 1.5W beige ones, two years ago. I bought them aftermarket and they worked out at about $1.50 each. Had no problems with them at all.

The best answer yet from Boxsey! What you said makes total sense and it looks like I got the right bulbs for any dial illumination issues I may have.
Thanks!
