Default Mahle oil filter P/N question

So, I've been getting Mahle LS 128, 930 107 764 01 filters from the dealer for use on my 1991 3.6 non-turbo, This p/n is listed as the turbo filter is this the same as you guys are using on NA engines?

Just to tidy up this thread ... looks like there are potentially 2 options for Mahle oil filters:
OC 54 or LS 128

Found this in another forum which explains ...
I just installed a dealer oil filter p/n 930.107.764.01, made in USA and marked LS128. Old filter was a 930.107.764.00, stamped OC54. The LS128 was about 3/8" shorter than the old one, presumably to clear the air conditioning compressor a little easier.

FWIW ... the Mahle filter sold by Pelican is the xxx.01 which the LS128.

The Mahle website lists the OC54 as the correct filter.

I think I will be looking for an OC54 with the extra length and presumably a little more filtering ability.

Perhaps 3.

Porsche shows 944-107-201-03 AKA an OC75 Pelican also shows this as the correct filter for
91-94 964s

I can tell you I have a OC54 on the car and an OC54 and a 930 107 764 00 on the shelf.

makmov nope that 944-107-201-03 is for a 944. They have it mislabeled on pelican. I know just ordered it and finally got them to take it back and send me teh correct ones.

long story, but bought what I thought was the correct filter per their description and wasn't.
called them to return and they wanted me to pay shipping for their error, finally they saw they screwed up and paid for the return shipping and back for the correct filters.

overall a very good exp with pelican, but shocked they still have not fixed this error

It is actually Porsche who has it wrong then because that is where I got the number, not Pelican, which is I am sure Pelican got the number.

That is specified for engine types M64.50 and M30.69, which are the Turbo/965 blocks. It will not fit the normally aspirated models.

I see now, why in the world would they put the NA oil filter 15 pages away?

makmov I was shocked how much smaller the 944 oil filter was then the correct filter. must of been like an inch thinner. surprised the turbo wouldn't need a bigger one or at least the same size

Does seem strange. I have a 944 filter too, and it's a lot smaller.

Although the say it's like origami, if you fold the paper just right you can get a much smaller filter with more filtering.

I have just always used a OC54 or Porsche equivalent on 911s.

I've been away form Porsche for 20 years. I amazing how much I forgot and is coming back to me know.
