Default C4 Widebody ****

I was inspired this morning to take some photos of my C4 widebody as I got in early to work. It's my daily driver, and it's as fun to drive as it is to behold.

Great looking car. Some of those mural shots would be a great addition to this thread:

Great idea on the mural thread. I will post there as well, maybe with a few other shots.

I know. I know. One of my next mods will be suspension, since you're looking at a 20-year-old configuration. I'm not a big fan of slamming the car. Thought I would go with a KW clubsport or PSS10. I should post some photos of the bushings. You would flip if you saw what condition they were in.

Who knew, Twins. Be interesting to see how far apart our serial numbers are from each other... So clean, have you replaced the 3m rear fender film? Mine is original and won't clean up like those, time to replace. Bumpers look super clean, have you resprayed? What kind of mileage and more about bushings? Are you saying they are in bad or really good shape?

Too funny. My last 6 of the vin are 420100. The rear fender film is still the original with plenty of wear and patina. I probably should replace it, but I kind of like it the way it is. And, it's still stuck on there pretty well. No respray on the bumpers and all original paint. The front can probably use a respray though. There is some spidering there. I have just over 64k miles on it. I recently took apart the entire front end to clean and refurbish some rusty panels. Got a good look at the bushings, and they were coming apart at the edges while I was degreasing the area. The suspension is still fairly responsive even with those old bushings. I'll probably do the diy on the bushings, drop links, roll bars, and suspension all in one shot sometime in the next few months.

Mine is 420350. Mfg date september 1993. Think I saw this on inside door panel. If you find that date we can figure the approximate speed at which this series were rolling off the line in Stuttgart

Be sure and share your suspension project as I have all original and not sure what I have to be honest. It says these models have Turbo set up, but I am just not sure what that means?
Not even sure of brands

Goodluck with upgrades.

Beautiful machine...

First 964 WB non-wing that I see in white and it looks better than I thought it would. The curves are very visible

Looking in great shape to me. Mine is a DD too, but looks a bit more weathered.
I did just replace the front busings though... well the mech did and the car feels tight like a new car. Truly unbelievable for a 20 year old machine.

Thanks for sharing!

Build date Feb 1993. Not sure if the serial numbers are sequential. Estimated number of North American WBs were around 256 or thereabouts, which would mean that mine and yours were the first and almost last in the series. Possible? Maybe.

Suspension is not necessarily straightforward due to the extra weight over a NB. Also, the rear trailing arms are the same as turbo models. I will need to do some research on the proper setup but I don't think you can go wrong with a nice coilover set to dial things in just right.

Navarros, thx for the compliment on the car. It is really a very nice specimen for a 20 year old car with 64k miles.
