Sounds good John, I think a base line dyno plot at Torque performance before the kit is fitted is a good idea as well.
The guys at Torque are very professional and doing before and after dyno runs is the only way to fully see if the claimed gains stack up.
They have a good 4wd dyno, little off topic but had my R32 turbo powered Jetta on it when mapping that.

Very interested to see how this kit pans out.

I have the Steve Wong chip installed. Maybe 3 runs: Standard, Steve Wong chip and SC kit.

Sorry to labour this but NO ECU increases the power of a motor. It realistically doesn't mater which ECU you have. It is the map that will allow any potential to be realised.
A straight before and after dyno power run may show some increase but until a mapping session is done you won't know what if any further potential exists in your motor.
Similarly, if you don't see much in the way of gains even after a full map session, it's of no fault of the ECU. The same result would be had if you'd paid for a super motec install.

They tout it as plug and play with a standard engine map already sorted. Hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew here. One of our group has put Link in his 993 with considerable investment in dyno runs. I thought the base work had been done.

I'm certain it will have a "base" map installed so you should be right there, I'd get it up and running and fine tune from there as needed but I agree with doing base runs, stock and steve wong first.
For example you may find that more can be squeezed out on 98 octane for example but everything is more difficult here and costs more due to our location in the world.
A lot is possible now though, take my Jetta in the video.......was R32 N/A but is now turbo running the factory ECU tuned over the internet by a tuner in the Isle of man, pretty amazing stuff.

Unfortunately hardly anyone does dyno runs before mods are done so everything after that is guess work and seat of the pants estimations which makes going back the same dyno every time all the more important

I see Johnny Tipler is having one installed as well. Given he wrote the article in 911 & PW I'm not surprised to see another installation on a well known car.

I love his enthusiasm for 64s and enjoy his writing. Will be interesting to read his take post install

Great stuff Don't forget to take picies! Honestly, you can fit this in a single evening. The longest(!) part of the job is just swapping out the injectors.

Will do. I have to avoid the temptation to just jump in and install it. I still can't believe I'm a semi pioneer in this.

Kit has arrived. I'm resisting the temptation to fit it before getting the car dynoed

Did you get instructions with your kit?

I think there was a sheet, but I recall it only detailing the vac hose in which the MAP sensor is Tee'd into. The rest is fairly self explanatory. If you do need any close up pics of any part of the installation just gimmie a nudge.

Just got an email back from them with that sheet. Now to book the pre-change dyno.

I was looking for the injectors on your picture, didn't notice they were in a bag
