Affordable but tend to corrode very quickly if driven in winter where the roads are salted.

That's the only issue? I'm trying to decide between the Veloce wheels or the Keskins.

Veloce items are lighter than the Keskins. In fact the RH split rim options are heavier than them also. The wheel bolt design on the Keskins are more accurate than the Veloce wheels. From personal experience I would rate the Veloce wheels highly as a cost effective and strong road wheel option.

The lips are finished with a clear coat. Moisture will eventually get underneath the lacquer and cause some corrosion and milkiness. Apply a thin layer of WD40 or the likes and that'll repel the water nicely.

Cheers,
Frank

PS. I'm assuming that we are talking about Speedline reps here.

I always thought Keskin were poverty RH wheels, which themselves are sort of reproductions.

Bit harsh.

Speedline originals can fetch £ 6K+ for a perfect set. Not many people feel comfortable running that pricey wheels on the street... pot holes, salt roads, curbs... I know several RS and 3.6 Turbo owners (of which their cars came with them OE) who store the genuine items in the attic and run happily on reproductions.

I run RH Speedlines and I'll say they are not as strong as Keskin or Veloce Speedlines on the road. Split rims have their own inherent problems that also include much higher re-furbing costs.

If you're looking for a low cost (in all aspects) and strong road wheel don't go with RHs or genuine items. In my mind the intelligent thing to do is to run strong, cheap, low maintenance wheels at the detriment of weight on the road. And run your lwt/ expensive wheels on track.

Sadly I'm not intelligent and I'd like to get hold of strong, heavy but sadly ££££ RUF wheels for rough Alpine touring and winter duty.... my RHs aren't up to the job.

I have had Veloce 3.6 replica wheels on my 91 C2 cab for 1.5 years now with no issues. I've driven them on everything from bumpy back country roads to rough city streets with metal plates and pot-holes with no issues. Given the rough treatment, I was very fearful that they would get bent but they're still straight and true, maybe due to the stepped lip. As to cosmetics, I waxed them (both the painted centers and stainless hoops) when new and have done so periodically since then and get the car washed at least once per month (including wiping down the wheels with a clean rag after they've been washed with hot soapy water) and haven't seen any staining or other cosmetic issues, even after significant brake dust accumulation.

18" Keskins installed for 5 yrs, approx. 5k miles on a 92 C2 Cab. No issues and give the OE look I desired.
