If you think about all the wasted money that goes into buying disposable cars that no one really likes....no one will every admire or even remember then you figure that these cars are worth a hell-of-a-lot more then they are selling for right now. One day, we will all look back and say why didn't I buy a few of them! Porsche is moving forward with technology and we all know a hybrid 911 is around the corner....there is no turning back unless you own a part of history. I sometimes think I should sell my 997.1 and buy 2 964s for an investment but I like my 997 for all the same reasons and I know I would regret it.

You are not going to get 2 964's for the price of one 997. Unless the 964's are beat.
Do a "pretend search" for a really nice C2, manual. In a nice colour combination. Essentially, there aren't any for sale. Anywhere.
There will be a point in time when the value curves cross, and a 964 is worth more than a 997. My guess? 1-2 years, at the present rate of trajectory.
My 997 is a C2S and has really low kms but you are correct I would still have to put more money into it. My current 964 needs work....not a lot but I want to do it right so I will end up putting a lot in. I'd look for similar cars, but I really like the 997s so not an option but it would be a good investment. Just pointing out that they are way too cheap right now. I agree the 964 will likely pass a good used 997 in the near future....but I also think the 997 will be a classic as well so give it some time.
