Hello.
There's loads of threads about later glass being fitted in earlier cars, but does anyone know if the screen for the Carrera 3.2 will fit in a 964.
I have heard this may be true of 3.2s built in 1989 only and I've also heard that the 3.2 glass is slightly smaller...
Anyone shed any light?

You can pick up 3.2 factory windscreen with antenna for $288 sekurit. the 3.2's had an antenna in the windshield from 87-89
Non Sigla US made 964 windshields (forget the brand starts with P like pennington) could be had for $410. (these are not as soft as the sigla) When you consider the cost of the 3.2 seal and the metal trim (required to hold window in place). Buying the factory windscreen makes more sense.
Although unless you removed your old windshiled odds are you will need a new seal. Best way to remove old windshield is to cut the seal.
Also the 3.2 windshield is 1/4" shorter on all 4 sides.

A few years back, Pilkington (NSG) acquired Sigla.

Not saying it won't work, just something to be aware of.

The windshield pinch weld lip is different sizes depending on the years.

I've fitted a 993 screen to an earlier, 930 model. I say fitted, it was on a race car and the screen was held in place with brackets and clamps for easy in/out.

I would agree. I had two to chose from and one had the antenna perfectly straight the other the wire was a bit wavy. I saw two Sekurit windshields and both had the antenna straighter than the pilkington. My factory sigla was perfect.

NSG is a massive (Japanese) company. In 2006 it purchased Pilkington making NSG/Pilkington one of the four largest glass companies in the world alongside Asahi Glass (AGC) Saint-Gobain (formerly Sekurit) and Guardian.
NSG has manufacturing plants all over the world. When you look at a Pilkington logo, there will be a dot place around it somewhere, for example over the 'P' or under the 't'. Different dot location means different plant/country.
