Default RPM Technik LED lights

RPM Technik have released a new LED headlight conversion for all air-cooled 911s:

http://www.rpmtechnik.co.uk/shop/ele...ht-conversion/

It seems to be a straight replacement without any wiring changes. Has anyone seen any photos of these lights on a 964? I just want to check whether the look doesn't change the character of the car too much. Also can one use the exiting body colour finish ring?

Thanks
Chris

From the link..

The basic kit option comprises of two LED headlights and mounting brackets that can be fitted to your original headlight surrounds. The full conversion kit includes all parts found in the basic kit as well as brand new chrome Porsche headlight surrounds and clear glass lenses.

Isn't it the same old trick....stick a Porsche badge on the box and add a zero or two!?

Would like to see on a 911 to see how it really looks. Don't want to change the character of the Porsche.

Actually with the standard lens these look absolutely gorgeous.

The only thing not so gorgeous is the price, but there's probably a lot of top dollar parts in it, right?

Sorry - didn't read the whole description!

Not that surprised about the price. Just paid £1k to have just one complete Xenon headlamp replaced on my Golf R.

What's involved in building your own? Is it just the headlight led you need as per the link above?

Not *quite* the same thing from D-Zug, insomuch these are HID, but are a complete kit with the (rather lovely) clear Singer-a-like lenses....and a fair whack cheaper with the $>£ exchange (although Import Duty & handling & shipping reduces this of course)

I really struggle to get my head around the looks of the D-Zug lights and agree the RPM ones are silly/greedy money.

I also think that in a couple of years prices for this style of lights will plummet and there will be a lot more to choose from.
