Question Will cup 1's fit my 90 C2?

If they do it could be good. Does anyone know?

Yes. What tire sizes are you going with.

Yup. I've got a set on my '90 C2. They are the 7's and 8's that came on the RSA.

The supposed "sweet spot" size for the 964 is 7x17, ET 55 and 9x17 Et55

Personally I like the MM reps on my car. 7.5 et 52 and 9 et 47.

^Ditto. I think it is the perfect offset for a narrowbody.

As per this link: http://www.rsamerica.net/OEMinfo/wheels/index.htm "A very common modification for the RS America was to move the 8” rear wheels to the front, and put a set of 9” Turbo rims on the rear."

This set up provides the maximum width while staying with genuine OEM wheels:
8 x 17 ET 52 front
9 x 17 ET 55 rear

Default This forum rocks!!

I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate this forum. I have the opportunity the get the MM replicas 7x17 and 9x17. I've already purchased and powder coated wheels for my car that don't fit once. Naturally I don't want to make the same mistake again. Now I can buy with confidence.

The MM will fit fine and look almost identical to OE.

What nobody told me is that they change the driving behavior of the car. Why? Because they weigh a lot more.

This isn't a disaster, but noticeable as the car feels heavier (and more stable) at speed... but putting it to the floor you also feel it.

I have both an OE set with Pirelli's and the MMs with Conti... switching between them is noticeable.

I like the OE better, but can't afford any more cracked rims... so ride on MM now.

Just be carefull to check the offset numbers......
There are some 'early' offset wheels around that look just like the correct wheels, but will not fit a 964.

The OEM 8"s in front and turbo 9"s in the rear is a nice setup! Hard to come by as people usually purchase two sets of wheels and end up with four (4) 7" cup1's.

Default Bummer

It turns out the wheels were cup 2's. The seller made a mistake with his post. The search goes on. These suckers are hard to find!
