Default Rear fuse-box cover screws

As many of us unfortunatly know, those 3 screws are something in our beloved 964s that's not been engineered at the best....

After having experienced one of them turning freely and making the cover removal a nightmare, I found this simple solution I want to share: get 3 5mm inox bolts (8 mm hex head) and cut them the same length as the original screws. With the help on a drill and a file, remove approximately 1 cm of thread next to the bolt head.

This is what you're after:

Make 3 of them, add 3 wide washers and you will NEVER have to experience that PITA in your life anymore!

Ciao

One of my screws just turns so I can't get the cover off. How did you get past this?

I removed all the plastic (drilling little holes all around the plastic nut will help) and then turned it with a pair of strong pliers. Took me quite some time, but i managed not to ruin the cover
