Low MPGs

I've been getting about 12 MPGs in all city driving with lots of traffic lights/stop signs. My commute to work is about 4 miles each way and would characterize my driving as moderately aggressive. The car is in great condition. The search function tells me that I should have my fuel injectors rebuilt. Is there anything else I can do to improve efficiency or is this normal?

There's "city" driving and there's "urban" driving. I've seen single digit mpg with a tank of short trips and bad traffic. 12mpg isn't necessarily outrageous.

I have the same commute as you and get equally bad MPG. Haven't calculated but a quarter of a tank lasts me about 50 miles. It's funny when I drive the 944 to work, the gas seems like it lasts forever.

Part of the problem is that your engine isn't getting anywhere near warm. I suspect that when you change oil, that you will find that you have quite a bit of condensation from many trips with a cold engine (my experience). I suspect that the ecu doesn't even change the A/F ratio because the engine never reaches full operating temperature. That is what I believe is killing your mileage. Many have this same problem. I get about 28 when driving the speed limit on the interstate.. 20 or less when double digit. Around town, I maintain about 20.
I used to drive 3.6 miles to work and 3.6 back. The engine never got hot. Since I have moved and drive 12-15 miles and have a hill to climb going home
, my engine gets warm.
I did get my injectors rebuilt by Witchhunters and got the before and after tests. They were fine, but were matched before return. Maybe 1 mpg difference.

+1 - Your commute is too short. I used to have a 2-3 mile commute and got "bad" mileage. But if I took a longer drive, the mileage was much better. Before spending any money on any repairs, take a long drive of 100+ miles and record your mileage. If its up, then I would say its not a problem. If I do all highway driving, I can get 23 mpg on a tank (400 miles/ 17 US gallons). But driving around town, I get high teens.
