ROFL!

Well, you can never be too careful these days. It certainly smells of suncream.

Actually, if you could see the state of my car right now, you wouldn't call it pampered. I'm tempted to take the afternoon off to clean it...

Cheers

yeah, i still haven't washed mine after last weeks 12mpg average trip to Norfolk. I think 28 insect species became instinct that day from the looks of it.

Norfolk? Probably a few locals mixed up with the insects, too.

Fortunatly I have no problems w/ color fade, but it's been garaged since I bought it last year, (was Florida car). Color was faded, but I felt confident that some 3M Ultra fine compound and a lot of rubbing would bring it back, it did! Some high priced high content Carnuba waxing and it really looks great. Also help beat 'em down on price for the "Faded" color!

No one has mentioned the best line of products out there. "P21S".

Strip all wax and residue with a wash using twice the soap concentrate one would typically use.

First step: 3M Hand Glaze. Second step: P21S Polishing Cream. Third Step: P21S Concours Look Wax. The car will look brand new.

Just washed the car (well, beats working...). Anyone found a good (ie easy) way of getting dead bugs, small mammals and the like off the paintwork?

No, you're better using a Brillo Pad

Anyway Rob, shouldn't you be out polishing the inside of your exhaust pipe ready for Sunday?

Oh, and remember to tell someone where you're going - you can never be too careful about people you meet on the internet

Tell someone! What do you think they'd say if I told them I was meeting people I 'met' on the internet...

The principle of removing the old polish before adding the new sounds very similar to Zymol and the like. Maybe it's similar stuff.

To be honest, I wonder if there's really much to choose between all these polishes. So long as it's simple to apply and gives a good shine, what more do you need?
