Default 40th anniversary 911

Remember the 30th anniversary 911? (get the 964 link in quick!)?

Now Porsche has announced a 40th anniversary car. It's a C2 with Turbo front, shiny silver wheels (very American!), extra 25bhp, xenons, sport suspension, alloy interior bits, and GT Metallic Silver paint.

Actually looks very good, well apart from the wheels. And at £68,000 good value for money, too.

Shame it's got a waterlogged engine...

Cheers

Phil

......but the 997 is due out next year- right? And am I wrong in thinking that there is little evidence that previous "celebration/anniversary" cars (as opposed to RS's etc) eminating from Stuttgart have sold at a premium on the used market? I guess if I had to have a 996 today it'd be tempting but as I don't...........

30th commands a small premium, but not much. The car has a high spec which justifies the price

Thumbs up

Great topic!

I thought PAG was rolling out a 996 RS in honour of the big 4-0? Is that one still in the production schedule or replaced by this Anniversary model? I'm hoping to have enough saved up to pick one up as they launch the 50th year model.

Again, fantastic thread! Good thinking, Phil!

GT3 RS is another model - but not specifically to celebrate 40 years.

do I detect a note of sarcasm Joey?

Just a tad.

Interesting. I just read the editor's comments from the latest Excellence (featuring the C4S cab) and his understanding is that the GT3 RS is the rumored Anniversary model and will only be available in Europe.

No, the GT3 RS isn't the anniversary model. The daft thing about it is only 200 are going to be made...
