A somewhat strangely written article from Road & Track, but a nice read regardless:

The 964 isn't my favorite air-cooled Porsche 911, not by a long shot. I've always thought they were a dumpy transitional model sandwiched between the last properly classic-looking 911, the SC, and the wonderful swan-song 993. I know mechanically they were a vast improvement over the SC, but even so… Then I saw this video. Or rather, I heard this video. To be able to hear this sound more, I'd make peace with it.
That's too mild a sentiment. I'm desperately in love with these 964s now. As we saw the other day, 911s and rally go way back, no matter how odd that seems to us in the era of WRXes and Evos. The flares, the liveries, and that sound. My god, that sound...
