Works Bell 964 Paddle Shifter
#31
I have to say, I don't know anything about the 993 stalk working. I know that on an airbag steering column shaft, there are 2 splines. The upper one for the steering wheel to slide over and a lower one for the airbag clock spring to slide over. I would guess a non airbag column does not have the lower splines.

I think the cowling behind the steering wheel is different. Deeper on the airbag version to allow for the extra depth of the squib. The 964 cowling is no longer available. Can get hold of the 993 cowling but not sure if it will fit.

Parts used to make the paddles work on a non airbag 964. Airbag squib ring. 993 airbag cowling. 964 cowling no longer available.964 airbag indicator stalk to give the airbag squib mounting points. The airbag squib ring wires connected to the tip box and earthed at the steering wheel. No need for changing the steering column to an airbag version. The gear change is transformed as when shifting in manual mode the distance of gear stick travel is eliminated making the gear changes much quicker.
