Here is a pic from our last SoCal run. Not the best picture.

Neil - Have you always lusted after the looks of the 993 over your 964? If so, go with the 993. The 993 is, according to many, the prettiest 911 ever. Very subjective statement, I know, but once I had the opportunity to upgrade from my 85 Carrera, I plunked down the extra dough for the chance to have my car wash mitt caress the curves of the 993. I like my women skinny but I love the hips on my C2.
The 993 is heavier and more refined than a 964. I also think the 964 is a bit louder, a sensory quality that I wished the 993 had more of. I bought RSR mufflers to gain back more of the raw sound my Carrera had but it's not quite the same.
If you want to know of the 993 issues, check out the 993 board and take a look a the FAQ at the top of the page. It should address many of the problems and nuances of 993 ownership.
Good luck, whichever way you choose!

Well, I went, I saw, I tried, I bought....I was very impressed by the car and although I ended up agreeing to pay a little more than I would have liked, I am collecting it next week.
Sorry that my visits to the 964 forums have been short lived, but I have been so impressed with my 964 Porsche exerience that I sold my soul to get another one, well a 993. So I will be on the 993 forum, but will be back visiting...
So who wants to buy a gorgeous RHD Guards red,1991 964 cab ????

Neil,
Went down the same route as you sometime back. Had a wonderful time with my 964 (actually never intended on selling it), but when the right 993 came along, the 964 found itself a new home.
Whilst I absolutely loved the 964, the 993 is everything I had ever imagined it would be.....the ultimate incarnation of the 911 for me. Now I am saying I will never sell the 993....though time will only tell....
We welcome you to the 993 board, but at the same time stay with the 964 board (I still frequently visit it)...it is great to see all the guys who are still so passionately in love with the 964....clearly one of the top 2 911s ever made![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
BTW, who's M3 is that in the background?

I agree Harold, the 964 is a great car and for the money is unbeatable.
I do however prefer the lines of the 993( IMHO), however the prices seem to start at £25000 for even the high milage examples, so £ for £ the 964 is the winner.
Yes the M3 is mine. A different type of 'great car'.
Neil.

So sad you can't just keep them all....
I hope to eventually get a 993 C2S or C4S... but I will try not to get rid of the 964 nor the 951... ...and also patiently waiting to see how the 997 will look like to see if I make the jump again to a new Porsche...

Collected the 993 cab. Very pleased with it, however there are a few minor things that I need to do to it to be 100% happy.
Anybody want my 964 ?? Polished and wrapped up in the garage..

You're right, though, that was a quick sale. Come on Neil - explain!
Cheers
