I'll get myself a complete set of bolts and washers from Porscha, in case the others I sourced are below par strength-wise. Many thanks for all the info
Ah! With you now! Mine had a saggy bum once too

BTW Now that you've got rid of the sag, check the tail pipe for bumper clearance and adjust if necessary.

Slightly different but possibly relevant (?), when Porsche installed the 964RS engine mounts on the 993TT as part of the X73 option, they increased the diameter of the washers from 34mm to 45.5mm and increased the bolts to 125mm.

45.5mm? Not 4.55mm?
Seems mighty thick for a washer, or are you talking about the full mount thickness?

You would think so but for some reason Porsche went with a billet-rod style washer.

Porsche fitted the RS mounts on a turbo? First Ive heard of it. X73 is 20mm ROW lowered suspension. Diameter, not width I think. 110mm bolts work, 125mm would work too!

Now that this thread has wonderfully turned up the experts on mounts, what would you guess-timate would be the milage that you might count on replacing them?

Mine look a a tad saggy, and they are the originals: 80k miles, no hard or wild driving.

Thanks.

It was a mid-model/year(MY97) upgrade?

"Whenever replacing one or both engine mounts on the above-mentioned
vehicles, both engine mounts should be updated to a new type engine
mount, (part number, 964 375 043 81) if not already equipped.
"

Here's the TSB.

My reply was not meant to be a serious reply to ZG862's! Hence the smiley (couldn't find the sarcastic emoticon).

I replaced my originals at circa 60k miles, they were visibly in need of it. Definitely notice the difference.

If in doubt, replace. The cost of your originals failing will outweigh the cost of what is a relatively easy (and very satisfying) upgrade. I went with RS' bug the Wevos look great too.
