Default Wheel Offset

what do u guys think it's the best ideal offsets for the narrow body 964. that being said, no rubbing & looks good when lowered. trying to find out the best combo in order to do custom wheel. please share your wheel offsets & width if you would.

thanks!

So a direct fit - widest wheels with standard size tyres is, 8.5J 225 & 10J 265
Note that with 8.5J and 225 you will have small rubbing against the inside of the wheel arch but only at full steering lock.

Direct fit offset with above J & tyre size is, ET52 & ET47

Now the most aggressive you can go with the above J & tyre size is, ET47 & ET32
This combined with the lowest you can go will require flattened arch lips and -1.5 & -3 of negative camber. Pic of this fitment.

Remember that offsets, J, tyre size fitment are all dependent on the following three, 1. Geometry 2. Ride height 3. Flattened/ rolled arch lips.

thanks Frank. yes i fully agree on all points. ride height, geometry, or even different brand of tires make the difference.

love your ride. visually my ideal ride height would be about 3/4'' to 1'' higher than your car for more ''civilized'' use. so that's about 1'' lower than stock. i'm thinking 18 x 8.5 ET58 & 18 x 10 ET51. or go with ET52 front instead of of 58.

btw, how much clearance do u have with the front wheel to the big brake caliper? seems pretty close.

ET 58 & 51 would bring your wheels right in and may cause more rubbing. Otherwise you'll probably end up using spacers to bring them out.

I would suggest ET52 & 47 with those Js.

I have very little clearance without spacers at ET52 but with these I ad a 5mm spacer = ET47

What wheels are you planning on buying?

don't have preference yet but leaning towards to the style u have or other RH wheel selection. other choice would be totally custom make something cool. i do plan to upgrade the brakes to Brembo so need to make sure whatever i decide is going to work with the brake later.

I had a similar experience on the front when I put my 8x16 ET 52 on with 225 RE 11's, I had to use a 5mm spacer as it rubbed slightly on the springs. I think this was caused by the tire's rim protector profile. Mark

Here is what it looks like:
