Gurgling oil lines.

The running water/gurgling sound is a result of your oil level & viscosity AND the bypass valve in the OE Porsche oil filter. No matter what, once the oil heats up causing the level in the tank to rise above the return line the gurgling sound should stop. So when you swapped filters did you also change the oil?
The gurgling noise is normal in the tank but not through the front lines that run to the bumper mounted cooler.

Is this cold gurgling normal ?

The gurgling noise isn't a fault its normal if you use the currently available porsche filter, oil grade, and level, but its just nicer if a car doesnt make odd noises, and i can't imagine they made this noise from the factory.

Just called Euro Car Parts and their part number for the Mahle OC54 is 501330025 @ £11.64 - oddly tho this doesn't bring anything up on their website. Anyhoo, I'll hop out at lunchtime and grab a pair.
If it doesn't improve the cold start noises I'll investigate more precisely the source. Its always so tricky to pin point where noises come from in a car

Right got the filter but now a little confused.
I confirmed with them that I was after Mahle OC54 and he confirmed the same partco number that I was given previous.
Here is the box:
and here is the filter:
'Mahle' is not mentioned on either and appears to be a 930 original porsche part. Is this correct?
Looking at the Knecht version on the ECP site listed for the 964 as Harry Apps pointed out, it actually shows a picture of the filter clearly marked as a Mahle OC54 BUT with part number 501330021
What have I got here? What is going on !

I think what they've done there is give you the porsche part and ignore the Mahle pn you gave them
