My car made the ticking noise with 15,000 miles on it- it wasn't bad, but noticable when driving next to a retainer wall on the highway. I just had the 15,000 service done, and still ticking (although a little less). These motors have that sound- it is quite normal.

By the way, per my mechanic, roughly half of my valves needed adjustment, the others were pretty much still in adjustment, as from the factory. (I have a 1993 C2)

Hi Ricardo

I don't have the larger tank - I think it's 66 litres. I'm not sure if I'll get double 400kms on half a tank (i.e. 800kms) since the guage isn't linear and I don't want to run the tank dry. I do know that prior to the valve adjust I was getting 300kms on a half tank of almost 99% highway miles. On the first tank since the valve adjust I got 375kms and on this second tank I managed to get 400kms plus. By the way I retorqued the cam housing bolts and along with the new valve cover gaskets I'm getting a fraction of the oil swetting than before - which was not much to begin with - in other words it took almost 2 tanks of gas before I seen any oil film appear. Next valve adjust I'll retorque the heads - maybe!
