Default Rear sunroof seal

Hi Guys-
I have the new seal, and I've been searching here and Pelican - found several posts/threads - just curious if anybody has anything to add that wasn't covered in threads out there based on your BTDT.

One thing I'm not totally sure about - once you pop the headliner down in front - and you do this with sunroof slid back a few inches - how exactly do you remove the headliner? Does it slide forward? I saw one post mentioning you have to bend it a little...?

Thanks!

Pop it down at the front then slide it back to reveal the four fixings.
4 8mm and 4 7mm

Yes, slide the headliner back after you pop the front clips out of the sunroof. Undo the brackets front and back on both sides and lift the sunroof out.

I was supposed to do this over this past weekend but my battery had died so couldn't slide the sunroof back - didn't think about hooking up my jumpers to the other car for a minute to slide the sunroof until yesterday. Duh. Hoping to get started on it tonight or tomorrow night.

Thanks for the info guys.

Quick follow up-
The seal I removed - the rubber tube inside it is shorter than the velvet seal itself - about an inch on each side. Is it supposed to be like that?

Other than that the removal was waaay easier than expected - just need to do the gluing then bolt 'er back up.

Did you adjust the height of the roof at all while you had it off, or just replace the seals? Mine just needs the rear velvet seal replaced, as the rubber bead came out of it.

How much time did the whole thing take?

I literally am waiting for the glue to dry on this project right now. the Pelican write-up on this is PERFECT. Liver came off easily and the sunroof came out no problem. I ordered the front, rear and that rubber rear seal to replace them all - so far- they look great and went on super easy. the old glue was so bad, the seals peeled off with no trouble and left almost no residue behind. I worked the metal over with Goof Off and used Gorilla glue to attach the seals- it's a LOT more forgiving that the 3M stuff and if you do get some some on the paint of the car, it comes off relatively easily and i's waterproof.

Anyway- it went really well and I have to thank every contributor to these DIY threads for their AWESOME info. I fixed my horn using this info and a weird tail light issue - you guys are awesome!!

to answer the above posters question, I started working on it at 1 PM, it's almost 4 now and i'll have it all together in 30 minutes. You gotta love Porsche engineering- everything works together pretty well!!
