Default Removing the gear shift **** insert

I need to replace the gear shift **** insert on my 964. The one with the 5 speed shift pattern in it. I know that it is just pryed out but is there a preferred tool to use so as not to damage the leather around the top? Once it is out does the new one just fit with friction or does it have to be glued? If it is glued, what would be used?

Thanks in advance.

Prise it out with a small flat screwdriver. Just be careful. New one just clicks back into place. Very easy! Good luck.

For delicate stuff, I use a trim molding removal tool.
