I could see $150k if the RSA had 1700 miles or if it was a 964 Cup.

But 17000k mile RSA would be realistic @$80k IMO.

He should team up with Sloan and they could sell it together for $678,467.20!

Anyone know of the actually selling price for a 964 RS?
In the UK and Europe the 964RS will change hands for the equivalent of $130K and upwards. Not quickly but they definitely sell. I considered buying one 4 years ago when they were the equivalent of $65K.

Yeah, but mine is a stereo delete car, so it sounds faster.

(But at least those cars had hollow intake valves or something, right?)
At least this car is rare in comparison. Although there must be a new form of crack that everyone is smoking. Ludicrous prices and even if I had millions of disposable cash I would be embarrassed to admit I overpaid that much. I am not saying one day these cars wont be worth this much (stranger things have happened) The market is not there yet and this is as crazy as the 76 turbo carrera in mediocre condition they claim they are selling for $169k

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...low-miles.html

The seller of the RSA claims he sold a 30k mile RSA for $109k I say BS to that or he is one hell of a smooth salesman and has idiots that overpay for customers. I have a bridge I can sell you here in Jersey all you have to do is keep the traffic flowing. LOL

Increase in asking price is one thing, claiming you sold a car for more than double to triple market value without proof is another.

This is becoming a mess for those that are interested in owning vs speculating and people throwing crazy numbers just destroys a good thing like the muscle car craze. Now look at where that has gone.

You wouldn't have a million dollars long if you spend your money like that.

Remember the Ferrari Bubble in the late 80's? Plenty of speculators got burned in that! The collector car market is currently out performing many financial instruments, there will come a time when so called investors will move on to greener pastures and values will become more realistic except for the rarest of cars, where demand by wealthy collectors will always exceed supply. I really don't think we can include the RS America in this group.

The only 964 to be worth over 100k would be the 3.6 Turbo, Speedster, Cup and Euro RS.

There is no way people are paying over 100k for RSA with over 20k miles on them.

Creaturecat has made the first spot-on post in either forum regarding this RS, thank you and finally.

Not only don't dealers have an obligation to us RL's to post transaction data, but they would be doing a disservice to their clients if they did so. We all live in a free-market, capitalist economy, which I daresay provides almost (all) of us the means to enjoy the Porsche world.

Cars, even our beloved Porsche's, are like any other asset, they rise and fall with demand. To denigrate a dealer or private seller for their asking price is simply wrong. The car will sell, sooner or later, for whatever the next owner is willing to pay. That is then the market for that particular car; it doesn't mean that every car identical to it is worth that - the next one may trade for more or less.

It's a forum, and by definition, a place to share your own thoughts, and mine are that after reading the comments here, in the cross-post about this car, in the RS forums about pricing trends, every RL member that is crying foul and bashing sellers left and right is doing nothing but lowering the quality of this forum.
