Default Best indy in the Northeast region

What are some some of the best indy shops in our region. I'm in NY- but I hear NJ/CT/etc have some of the best shops that are known around the country. Perhaps someone who really knows 964's in and out! Thanks

Thanks Jenner, I've also heard great things about the boys at Dan Jacobs.

Winner winner!!! I trailer my cars 3.5 hours each way to have Dan and his crew wrench on my cars. Absolutely the most trustworthy and dependable shop around. You will not be disappointed!!!

I had my car PPI'd at Daniel Jacobs. Beautiful facility, lots and lots of Porsche cars. I had a valve adjustment job done at Rennworke a few months ago, also a beautiful place and the work was really good, car runs top notch. One thing is that Cheech is a bit of a character and some people don't like his 'personality/the way he talks, etc.' but the work is good.

Since you're in LI, I'd also take a look at Rudtners Racing in Freeport.

Another honorable mention goes out to Powertech in NJ.

Just got a CaymanS and took it to Formula Motorsports for an oil change and not too much later a collision which was the fault of my parking attendant so figured I would give them a +1. They had a new Supercup car I believe in there and about 20 newer Porsche's which is weird for an independent but I guess the closer you get to NYC the newer the car. I had a good experience though and based on what I have heard they are the premier place to go if you willing to shell out an extra 15% above the other independent guys- for me it is worth it for their location and expertise. I also have been to MMC and will never return after a 1,000 bill for something that should have been under warranty. I also heard good things about a place called exotichouse but cannot find any information on them on the net.

I've used Fairfield county motorsports for years. Good thing for the New York guys is that the shop is at the Fairfield, ct train stop. So there are express trains back to the city. Otherwise they also have loaner cars, which is convenient. The guys there ran the shop at traynor porsche years ago and when traynor shut down (Jim traynor died in an accident on the road) the split offs were that josh weeks started Danbury porsche and don and jim started ff county Motorsport. They have been porsche specialists for 30+ years...and since they are in my back yard, litterally, I go there. Have never had an issue, and they have done a ton of work on my 964 and my Audi allroad. Good guys. Highly Recomend. As a side note. There are a lot of us in the area. We should get together weekends and get stuff done on the cars.

seems the guys at ROCS in belleville, NJ are big into 964's and 993's....plus others, worth looking into if you prefer to get work done on this side of the river.

Any shops in Manhatten to recommend? I've heard good things about a place called extotichaus or house but cannot find anything near NYC with that name that seems to be a Porsche shop.

There are enough well known good shops close, to not have to go to an unknown...just my 2cents. Stick with the winners.

Thanks! Would like to find a place that will also store the car as parking is killer by me. The places I have called have kind of laughed which I was expecting. By the way how do you start a thread? I see there are some people with a wild amount of posts and they seem to have car businesses also so weary of taking their advice obviously. I guess you get that online. Lot of info here though and nice pics a like it better than the six speed site. I am new to Porsche or relatively new so looking for a point in right direction.
