Reviving an old post. I am replacing the axle seals and I have found only a couple references to packing the seal with grease. Most posts do not mention it. Is everyone installing with grease and if so, only LiquiMoly PU53 - Porsche Part No #000-043-110-01?

Thanks.

I've never done anything but lightly oil the lip of any seal I've ever installed. I replaced these almost 2 years ago and they haven't leaked yet.

The reason you pack the seal with grease, is to prevent the spring from jumping off it's seat when you hammer the seal in place.
