Hi Steve - no, you do not need to reinforce the engine brace when utilizing the 993 mounts.

+1 on the 993 mounts and Pelican Parts. Direct bolt in without any issues or modifications. I dont notice much difference with the new mounts except shifting during spirited mountain driving works as expected now and is the only reason I changed mine.
