Offroad, I thought it was developed as a track car?

Somehow i got the impression they were intended as customer rally cars for a non existent series. I may have made that up.

Alex, I think I've read that somewhere too. I thought they were a rally car, along the lines of the Paris Dakar 959, that never actually raced...

They were never intended for anything, were never homologated in any race category.
A white elephant for sure.

Steve. If you look back a page. Posted the spec sheet for the one at Essen.
I'll try and up load some more photos.
I was told today, that of the 20 cars built 17 are white and 3 were in different colours. 1 x Red, 1 x Maritime blue and 1 x Yellow.
Of all the 20 cars, 1 was registered for the road and only 1 had magnesium cup 1's from the factory and it happens to be the yellow one in these photos.
I asked the seller about the D90's being magnesium and he said yes they were. I asked him if he was sure, he then said no. Yet agai. No confirmation or otherwise on this myth.

These cars were not intended for anything other than the track. This is what I have read and also been told today

Thanks Stuart, I picked up some chatter about it elsewhere (including the shocking price)....hadn't realized you had been there too because I hadn't read the previous page!

I've been there a couple of days, lots of photos of various 964's and Porsche related things, I'll post them when I get a chance to.

Loving it in yellow

Plastic wrapped interior should keep it dust free!

Strange to see the Momo V35 steering wheel without the centre horn push, when I thought they normally had them fitted.

Nice find Stuart

Ive seen lots of pics of the yellow one, its had Cup 1s on it in all of them so guess it came from the factory like that

Seems Bonhams sold a metallic blue one a few years ago

My misunderstanding, I was told 1 x blue, so it's not Maritme.
Must say I prefer the Blue, and who ever owns it now, looks like it was a great investment.
