My AC compressor is leaking and needs replacing or rebuilding. I was thinking of stripping it down over the winter and rebuilding it but cannot find any guides or DIY's. Does anyone have anything they can point me in the right direction on? I'm hoping I can strip it down, send it away to be powder coated black and rebuild it with a rebuild kit or something.
Once I get the unit out, I assume there will be a manufacturer part number on it somewhere?
I would also like to powder coat the compressor black, a la Singer and others I've seen on here as it looks a lot smarter.
Any tips from anyone who has done this before much appreciate!

Really? I found this on the Pelican site for earlier 911's: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...so_rebuild.htm
Why are the compressors on our cars so different?
