Chevron Delo 400 Multigrade 15W-40 (Non LE)
I am not trying to create another oil debate I recently picked up a couple five gallon buckets of Delo 400 multigrade 15W-40 non synthetic.
The Delo 400 multigrade is pre 2007 emission oil used primarily for diesel engines. All of the stores in my area only carried the Delo in LE which is low emission oil post 07. Rotella, Mobil Delvac, etc. all meet the low emission standards as well which is a different formula than the pre 07 oil and is considered LE.
I located the local Chevron dist. and purchased the oil direct. It was $62.60 per five gallon container which works out to $3.13 per qt.
I just wanted to pass this on for those who do not use synthetic and are looking for a good dino oil.
This search started for me after a friend spoke with Henry Schmidt from Supertec a well respected engine builder. Henry recommended Delo 400 Multigrade 15W-40 (Non LE).

Not as thick as 20W-50
I am currently running 20W-50 VR1 non synthetic. I started my search for a lower viscosity non synthetic oil because I am driving my car more in the early spring and late fall. 15W-40 is the next step down in a non synthetic oil.

I live on Long Island and am switching over to Rotella T6 5w40 from Valvoline VR1 20w50 because I want to drive the car in the winter. I've changed my oil in the cold (not -4 cold but low 40's) and I noticed the oil was like honey.
