My muffler was super tight, I did the cheating way, and lubed both sides of the muffler, the head exchanger, and the tip of the bottom bumper cover to slip it out.

Question for you Mike - I looked on the FVD website and all I see is an "adjustable" two piece cup pipe - yours is a direct fit with no modification -

what is the best cup pipe to buy, from the perspective of cheep and easy fit... fabspeed is 350. I've seen pipes on ebay for 100 used...FVD is how much?

I'd likely buy one if i could find another for 150 or less... but dont want to modify anything or lose my stock cat for the moment...

I got a great deal from a Rennlist member. I'd buy the cheapest one out there as long as it comes with clamps. There is nothing special about them. Mine is not the adjustable fit, it's a fixed length. Not sure I get the need for the adjustable one.

Have you split your secondary yet?

Eventually will get sport cat and a SW chip.
Yes to that combo. I love mine. Do you have a drilled airbox?

I might have read that there's a potential problem with exhaust leaks with adjustable pipe. Makes sense and maybe it's a very small %, so just a heads up.

Yes! I know that sound. Not too loud, still socially acceptable but getting to the limit. Definitely a smile inducer.

For those looking for a cheaper Primary bypass - $50 muffler shop cup pipe

Default A cheap De-cat option

Found this and ordered it £75 on flebay

It has a flaw though the position of the sensor is poor and will need shielding of some sort to protect it from the elements but having said that a bit of a bargain !

While that is a good pipe for the money, GA does visual inspections and I need one that looks like a cat and not a straight bypass pipe.

I decided to drive my 964 this morning instead of taking my truck. I jumped in forgetting all about the cup pipe install ....... until I started it up in the garage. The sound is just intoxicating.

I got a few hard runs in this morning and I have to say this mod is the best bang for the buck that I've done. It is like a completely different car and I know that it revs much quicker from 3k to 6k rpms.

Yup, noticed that too. Although I havent had much chance to get the car out for a real blast, the needle flies round after 3K

Congrats!

A little different but I've been in love with the sound of my 964 with the G pipe, just heavenly on every on ramp and tunnel

I see we have a few 64's in the Atlanta area, we should definitely organize something one day even a nice drive in the mountains!

I have a Galaxy S3. I'll look for the app and post it.
