Another Clutch Question!
Hi All,
Apologies if this is a boring question.
My 1989 C2's Clutch is slipping slightly when I change from 3rd to 4th when giving it plenty of right foot action. When I drive sedately and when pulling away quickly in 1st it's fine. Is this a sign of the clutch going or is it something else?
I'm unsure whether the car has an RS clutch and flywheel or not as the previous owner does not know and there is no record of it in the paperwork. It has had a few modifications over time so I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I have fitted a Steve Wong chip to try and counter act the sub dipping revs but it hasn't fixed it so I'm still none the wiser!
Thanks in advance

A good way to test to see if your clutch is slipping is to put the car into a high gear at low speed and see if you get any slippage - ie, 3rd or 4th, and try to accelerate hard. If it slips, then it could be time to change it!!
If you can hear the gears in the gearbox rattling at idle then you likely have an RS clutch/flywheel fitted. If not, then most likely you have the standard DMF unit as it's main purpose was to reduce this noise.
