When I'm finished I'll document the journey in getting my 1990 C4 back on the road. There will be a few hard learned lessons passed on.

Right now, I'm trying to organise replacement of a seized lateral slave cylinder. This is used by the PDAS unit to lock the differential when traction control is needed or oversteer is detected.

My question is what would happen if the cylinder was seized open i.e. it was unable to lock the diff?

Under all but fairly extreme conditions, you wouldn't even notice

You would basically would have an open rear diff, which is what a standard C2 has.

BTW you may not need to replace the unit, Colin at 9m has seal replacements being manufactured for a very reasonable price.
