Default Unofficial KW V3 Owner's Thread

I know there are a number of KW V3 owners out there so let's use this thread to share setup information. I currently have my clickers set to Front 8 on Rebound and 6 on Bump. Rears are 7 on Rebound, 6 on Bump. All settings are back from full hard. I have not yet been on track but they feel great on the street.

I also just had my car aligned. Here is my setup along with a pic:

Thanks! I'm glad it's starting to come together. The V3s install was something that my younger son and I did together, so it's been a very rewarding project.

The black Cup 1s are my track wheels. I bought them used and they have quite a few scrapes. Long term I'll get them media blasted and powder coated, but for now they're just plasti-dipped.

Very cool, great thread!

My settings are at home but I'll try and dig them up - suffice to say though, I love my V3's

I'm headed to the track in about a week. Is anyone willing to share their track set-ups?

Front & rear:

Bump & rebound are two clicks off full hard.
H&R anti roll bars.
18inch 10J & 8.5J.
Toyo R888.

0 toe front.
-1.5 camber front.
- 3 camber rear.

This is my aggressive track setup.

Very happy. Although KW ClubSport springs would be tempting.

Bahaha

Actually BU brings up a good point (lol)!
The KWV3 manual states that you should not be less than 3 clicks off full hard or you risk damage to the dampeners.

I didn't see this statement in my manual. Do they mention that this is for track use? The documentation that came with my coilovers said the recommended setting is Front 8 reb, 8 bump and Rear 6 reb, 6 bump. I think they mention that you shouldn't be a certain number of clicks different between front and rear, but I need to go back and reread that section.

I would say it's for both to be safe. Road surface will never be as smooth as on track and track conditions are extreme.

PS. Car looks great! Enjoy!

Nice looking car Hal. Are those 9" cup 1's in the rear? I'm looking to move over to KW V3's in the future, so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Full hard is only good for straights and long sweepers.

Thanks! Yes, those are 9" Cup 1's in the rear that I plasti-dipped. I'll eventually have them media blasted and powder coated OEM silver, but it's kinda fun to see what the car looks like with black wheels.

I hope everyone is cool with me reviving this thread. I just had my KW V3’s installed a couple weeks ago. I requested a soft initial setting, and it’s too soft. I will be going back to have them tightened.

I would like to hear about your street settings if you could share. I will go find my initial setup info to post more specifics later.

Thanks,
-G
