Hi all,

I have been trying to set up a race technology data logger for my 89 964. My mechanic hooked up a wire from the Motronic box under the passenger seat, which I have connected to the back of the Race Technology DL1 box. Apparently this is a low voltage source, so I think that part is correct, but it also asks how many pulses per revolution, so the feed information is correct.

I had it set at 1 as I went by the following:

"The number of pulses per rev is vital for getting the correct reading. Typical values are as follows:"
ECU tachometer output 1
Coil per plug ignition 0.5
Twin coil pack 1
Coil on a four cylinder engine 0.5
Coil on a six cylinder engine 0.333
Coil on an eight cylinder engine 0.25
Coil on a ten cylinder engine 0.2
Coil on a twelve cylinder engine 0.1667

I also tried "0.5", and also "2"

On the Race Technology DASH3 dash rpm lights, they don't match what is actually happening. At low revs, the shift lights go up to redline.

Looking for the correct values, or pulses per revolution. If it is "1", I must be doing something else wrong.

Also looking for former F1 engineers, brain surgeons or nasa astronauts for weekend work, running my Race Technology software.
