Hello,
I bought my first Porsche, a red one. she's a 1992 C2, My gf called her flyin tomato. I already put down 300+ miles in two days.
also my friends Evo 9 in the picture. It makes 402hp to all 4 wheels. unbelievable car. Surprisingly easy to drive.
The Porsche is phenomenal. My previous car was a 2005 S2000. The S2000 was very manual in a way comparing to other cars. Which was also fantastic.
I only get to drive on the weekends these days. Hopefully the more I drive, the more I understand the Porsche experience. I perhaps was a bit spoiled by the more modern S2000.
I didn't have to spend $80 + on a tank of gas before![EEK!](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Much to learn![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Jpar,
There is actually roof.
Those wheels are GT3 wheels. as I was told there are replicas by the previous owner.
new wheels in the near future? Have to shift budgets around. after the big spending for the car.

Another picture of a friend's EVO and the s2000. The 964 feels heavy after driving my friend's car. Tho I still have mix feeling about the 1 finger effort steering of the EVO. I don't remember the s2000 steering wheel was that light either. It was also Electrical assisted. I miss that car quite a bit.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase of the FlyingTomato. It looks to be a great looking car. How many miles are on the beast ? Always like the S2000 but, after you get to know the 964 a bit more you'll love it just as much.

Given the revs I drive at and how much fun I have with the car, it can get spendy filling up the tank, thankfully it's a large tank @ 20.3 gallons.
I think the S2000 has a 13 gallon tank?

The car has 150k miles coming up soon
how do I bring back the shine to the paint? Is there clear coat? There is a slight fading on the left mirror and rear wing. other than that, there's no scratches, ding nor dent anywhere. Overall in excellent condition still.
S2000 has a 13 gal tank. I usually top it off with just about 10 gals. So never went over $42 with east coast price.

Part of the charm of these cars is the reality that they are now a classic - released in the 80s, still air cooled, tail happy, and still very analogue/mechanical.
Comparing them to a light 2-seater cabrio that came 10 years later is apples-to-oranges, and to a modern Evo is apples-to-sparkplugs. If you were keen to maintain a modern feel in a Porsche, a Cayman might have been the way to go.
To bring back the lustre of the paint, you should look at having a paint correction done by someone reputable. It made mine look almost brand new.
