Default replace porsche 964 fuel pump

Dear 964-money-sinkhole-friends,

Currently I am trying to end a kind of rebuilt to my 964. For this I removed my 964 fuel pump (remember to unplug your battery and empty your tank, otherwise you will be in trouble.

But I managed to get the fuel pump out by cutting the two bolts for the electirc connectors in half. this way I could turn the pump to unconnect the inputhose for the fuel. However, I now have to put a new fuel pump in there. And Ideally I would not want to cut the two bolts for the electric connectors of the new fuel pump. Does anyone have found a smart way to do this (reconnect the new fuel pump)?

best Justin!

ps. the DIY on this topic does not help. Other than warning people with no right hands to not do this yourself.

What did you cut?

The connection bolts?

This is mine after I replaced it.

I got a new one and realized I messed up the removal when I got the new one. The install of the new one was a 5 minutes job. (From the old one I thought the metalwork at the output side of the pump was one peace, hence I cut some stuff it really looked like that when it was under the car, when I got the new one I saw it was actually a three piece metalwork, so easy peasy install). Thanks for your reply and picture stevepaa!).

The bad news however is that I still don't have a spark and fuel in the lines. So my problem for why it is not starting is somewhere else.

Are you sure that the fuel pump is running? If it's not, have you tried changing the DME relay?

No spark & fuel(barring a bad DME relay) might suggest a bad flywheel speed sensor.

haha changed dme relay too and installed, but this wasn't the soution. Purchased a new flywheel sensor yesterday . I hope to try that in the weekend. Otherwise I will have to go over all the wires/connectors with a multimeter.
