He all,
Happy Memorial Day weekend. Here in MI, it's been a long winter!
I'm giving my 964 an RS style clean interior and part of the process is removing all the sound dampening and carpets. During this, I found a switch which looks aftermarket to me, but I want to check with the board on it. I was surprised to find it and I'm not sure what it is. I don't want to just rip it out without knowing more about what it's for....very wise.
The location is under the passenger side of the dash board. This weekend is when the dried glue etc comes out and the Rennline full race mats go in. Looking forward to the cleaner look!
Here's a picture:

Could this have been for Nitrous or some other aftermarket application? How do I determine what it's for? Any help is appreciated.
And the requisite car shot:

Maybe a cut off switch? Have you tried starting the car after flicking the switch? Can you see where the wires lead to? It could be a switch to override the oil cooler fan, but I think that should only need 2 wires, and not three like this.
Nice E-Type!

IM(limited)E crappy looking stuff like that is either aftermarket audio or alarm.
If it's the second, you need to be careful before removing because you never really know how it's hooked up; injudicious surgery can result in a car that doesn't run

That isn't factory in my view. It looks like a security measure.
Great looking E Type. Would love of a few pictures of it when you get a chance
