Default KW V1 installed pics

I had a busy few weeks of mods and maintenance. Last week I installed a momo prototipo wheel and clear turns. This week I installed my V1's, new tie rod ends, cv boots and RS engine mounts. I also painted my wheels. I'm going for an alignment and possibly corner weighting tomorrow. I'm done for a while, I need to save to do an RS clutch, cat delete and chip in the fall.

Nice! I bought the V1's also. They go low and the ride is amazing! Plus, you have the best color combo;-)

Looks good! I'm doing my steering wheel next, either prototipo or mod 07. What method did you use to clear the airbag light (if you did)?

I used the 928 bridge plug, it disables the whole airbag system.

You also need the contact lever to make the horn work.

Remember to get some sandpaper for the steering column.

How easy was doing the tie rod end joint? I'm planning to change that out soon , along with a new tie rod.

Tie rod ends were easy, the whole assembly is a little more involved, my inners were fine.

Saw your post over on the 'tex. Looks great, really!

Your post has me leaning toward the Prototipo. Is the distance from the turn signal stalks any different? I am assuming you didn't use a spacer, just the hub adapter right?

Alex, what kind of sandpaper did you use?

Mostly 400, cause it seemed like a lot of trimming. But I finished it up with 800. I just wrapped it around the hub adapter, and put the steering column over it. Then moving the adapter gives you a even distribution throughout. But the thing is that when on the car the steering is a bit tilted up, so I would try to sand it at the same angle the hub would normally be present on the car. The result of just holding it straight is a slight gap on bottom and not enough on top. Let me know if that isn't clear in any way.

Alex, thanks for the explanation. It makes a lot of sense.

One thing though: If I put the hub adapter "on" with the sandpaper wouldn't that mimic the position when installed?

Also, which wheel do you have installed? Sorry for the thread hijack!

How low did you set the V1s, is this max low? Did the new coilovers affect the camber much?
