Spoiler Wall: Pelican German or OEM?
Hi all,
I need a new spoiler wall, 993 512 121 00.
Pelican have a German (non-Porsche) one for $70 and when last I checked the OEM one was $93 from Sunset.
Anyone been unhappy with the cheap one? If it's German, I figure it comes from the OEM supplier in generic packaging...
Thanks!

I bought the $70 one from Pelican, and a friend of mine with a 964 bought the more expensive version. They look identical. Packaging as I recall stated it was from Germany. Both have worn similar..although we replaced them only about 4000 miles ago.
Only difference I noticed is the pelican version went installed much tighter than the german higher priced part.
I'd do the Pelican one again...

Probably depends somewhat on your climate.
I got 9 years put of mine. I did not even know what a spoiler wall was until someone waved at me to pull over because something was flapping around in the back of my car. :-)
That was around 2002 or 2003. Last year on the way to Parade in SLC, I again noticed that it had split. I don't remember now if I bought OEM or Genuine Porsche. I do remember that both times it was a bit tricky to install, but eventually it did snap in.

Got the Pelican one and no problems here.
3 years or so on it now and still fine.
Lots of open close action here in a harsh climate. I can't immagine a worse location to test it.
Would go again with the Pelican 70 usd part.

I got the cheaper ones from Pelican. First broke after about 100 miles. The second has been in there for about 3 years now with no issues. I am in Chicago with hot summers and cool winters

I bought the $70 one off of Pelican and cannot get the curtain to seat to the spoiler for the life of me. Even with dish soap it's simply not going on. I can get the corners on but that is it. Frustrated as hell and my thumbs are numb.

These things seem to break all the time. When mine split in 2006 I just used duct tape to hold it together and it's been fine since (still with the original tape!)

Same issue here. I was sweating, cursing, wnd sweating some more trying to get that thing installed. I took the spoiler off and with it sitting in my lap I used a big, dull chisel to get in behind the groove that snaps on to the spoiler and snapped it on a little at a time. There was no way in hell it was going on with my fingers alone.
