There's nothing like a bit of late braking before the chicane and 'coasting' past the noise meter.

Cheers Pete

I was paranoid of being black flagged. Particularly after Frank was pulled off for being 0.5 dB over.

A bit of Chief driving

What is the db limit on the track?

Another stunning day at Donington (following a great social evening) and many thanks to Steve for organising this. Great to meet up with a number of you again - already looking forward to the next meeting

Yes thanks Steve for organising once again. Great day and loved the bat mobile flames coming from Franks car.

I did manage to run into the back of a range rover évoque thingy on the way home though so back to the body shop it goes. Doh!

Oops. Trust you are OK but given the height difference of the cars I fear for the 964...

It was low speed mate but yep left hand light took most of the impact. Crease on left front wing. Shouldn't be too hard to fix

Great seeing you all and meeting new faces.
It had been too long - very happy to have been back on track finally. Planning a few more this year.

Steve - as ever great day. Thank you.

Ouch! I'm sure the Evoque looks a lot better now

Did you get caught up in the bad traffic due to the overturned truck?

There were huge tail backs coming back to London. I peeled off into the fuel station to find it was closed.... a truck had come off the motorway, travelling all the way up a steep embankment and landed on it's side, a tennis court distance from the fuel station....

Emergency services were all over it - the truck looked in a very bad state...

Yes not sure who was more embarrassed, me for hitting him or him for driving an évoque!

Yeah mate couldn't believe it when I saw it on its side just after the services. Amazing the chaos when they close one lane.

I've got this great image of a very short bloke stepping out of the evoque with a foul temper, only for you to step out and suddenly - he goes all quiet

What a brilliant day - again! What a great crowd, just sorry I missed the social last night.

But you losers all missed the best bit of the day! It dried up nicely and I stayed out until the chequered flag, so basically an hour straight sliding the car around - hilarious

I was grinning to myself for the first 3 hours of the journey home, the by 4th hour the boundless joy dissipated a little tbh. Jaisus traffic was terrible, I should have just done M1 M25 M23 home and instead I went M1 A43 M40 A404 M4 M25 M23 home, and pretty much every diversion I tried to avoid a crash had its own accident, in fact I think there were fewer offs on the track day!

Ah what a bugger, you should have had some of that banana cake - well known for sharpening the reflexes.

Still, you didn't get black flagged, which is a fairly major acheivement.

Glad to hear you all enjoyed in chaps. Indeed it was great evening and day with a fantastic turnout of 964s. By coincidence I was out on track with Pete/Chief most of the time (as evidenced by Pete's videos above) and had some great fun sharing the track with them.

One of the highlights of the day for me was a passenger session in the other blue C2 belonging to Richard Lambert. It was amazing how quick a fairly standard C2 can go with a racing driver at the helm. Smooth and fast sums up his driving perfectly. I got out of his car knowing that there is a lot I need to learn about 911 driving!
