HELP THE ENEMY!
Hi guys,
It is with a request for help that I write this post. The passenger side electric window failed and left the window in the down position. I checked the switches and one seems to be dead. Both the others work the driver's door window fine. My friend Steve came round, by which time I had the passenger door card, pocket and speakers removed. When we opened the top of the wiring connector we were getting power to the terminals.
He removed the window motor and this would go up or down but not both.
We swapped switches around re-tested the the wiring connector and there was no power to the passenger side.
I ordered a new relay and two switches from Porsche and swapped them today. Still no power to the passenger connector.
Both the connectors on the drivers side have power and the drivers side window works perfectly.
So my questions are:
1. Have you had this happen to your car?
2. What do you think the problem is?
3. How do I fix it?
4. Have you ever tried fitting a window motor back in?
Answer: It's a hideous job and brings out the most foul language in a person.
5. How do you work out the correct position of the motor on the window mech?
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate learning from your experience.
Thanks

It could be that the wiring between the door and the body has become frayed somehow--in the door jam area. I am somewhat surprised that replacing the switches did not fix your problem, as they are usually what fails.
Power to the passenger side runs through the driver's side. So make sure everything got hooked back up over there ok.
You say that you got two new switches--try swapping out the third one.
