Surely you mean its easier to find a C4 in the UK?

Finally, Made my choice and in a few days I should have a C2 delivered to my office in the UK.
I won't see it for another week as I'm not going to be back in the UK until the 23 July. A bit of fettling in the UK then a drive home to Switzerland.

I'll post some photos next week sometime.

I havent lost the back end yet but maybe I'm not trying hard enough.
Try turning off the PSM... I would have the tail of my 997 Carrera hanging out in over half of the corners I took (on purpose I might add). So for mechanical grip on less than perfect road surfaces there is no comparison. Both the 996 C4S and the 964 C4 drive perfectly neutral through the corners... And faster. The 964 C2 Targa tiptronic didn't slide that much, but def feels out of balance when driven the same way. All cars were stock, driven in the same conditions and on the same road.

Actually, I have never felt a more balanced platform than the 964 C4. Perhaps the 993 C4 is, but I never drove that one on the edge since it wasn't mine.

Any other 911 (and I've driven every model) on regular roads, stock, with N spec road tires has been less balanced.

All in my subjective opinion

I have put about 5000 kms on my C4 over the past 3 months. When I bought it, I was worried I'd regret getting the C4 (I jumped largely because the price was a lot lower than market value). I even did some research early on as to converting to a C2. 5000kms and a bunch of auto-xes later, and I'm converted. The car in no way feels like it's costing me performance because it's awd. It's a very seamless system, and it's staggering how quickly I can pile on the power coming out of a corner. As far as the 'dreaded understeer' - I have yet to face it. I 'thought' I was fighting it early on, but adjusted the pressures (36psi front, 44psi rear) and the car is now very, very well balance. (My other car is a Miata ). Drive one, find the nicest example you can find, and don't sweat whether you'd be faster in a C2.

As for the sensors: the major factor in the pricing of my C4 was that the PDAS and ABS were not operational. I had to replace the front control box, front wiring harness, and one accelerometer. Despite the horror stories on pricing, I was able to locate all three items for less than $350 total. $200 for the computer (here), $75 for the wiring harness (ebay) and $75 for two accelerometers (here).
