What you choose a 964 C2 or C4

4 years ago i was looking for a C2 coupe. After seeing a few i got tired of disappointing
Viewings. I decided to look for the best condition , any colour. I came up with a full history
C2 targa and bought it. Its been a great ownership experience and has passed its MOT
Every year since with no work required. Having got a sound car i was able to treat it
To luxuries such as new suspension. Good luck with the PPI

HI JONNY,
How do you find the Targa. I've driven a few Cabs and the creek when ever you go round a corner, well the ones I drove did and I heard the Targa does too.

Thankfully as everyone is after a coupe finding the cab when looking to buy was easy and cheap.

Hey Pop's
I didn't mean to upset you or any other cab owners.
A friend of mine was telling how a guy in a cab with a full roll cage was flying around Spa.
I was just going by my own experience, obviously an ill informed one by the sounds of it. I am sure they will vary from car to car though.

Hi Stuart , the Targa has been a great choice for fine weather and
Is quiet and dry with the roof on. I get the odd creak on slow speed
Uneven surfaces but not annoying. It is important that the roof/seals
Are in good condition because fixing can be difficult. With the top off
Theres very little buffeting and you can feel very connected to the car/road
Countryside.Exhaust note is nice so i havnt wanted to make it louder.
Its also fast enough and fun on my local track. Also grown to like
black /grey though I wouldnt have chosen them at the time. Any 964
In top condition after 20 years is a good start. The targa roof is not easy
To use , but is a 1 man job.

I love seeing all the C4 fans out there. I would have bought a C2 but found an amazing C4. I worry about all the stuff people tell you....more complicated to repair, heavier, blah blah blah. I feel justified by hearing all the C4 addicts out there. C4 has been great. My only comparison is a 997 2 WD. Not really apples to apples. It is one hell of a grippy dude though. I havent lost the back end yet but maybe I'm not trying hard enough.

So true... not sure what the balance of C2 vs C4 availability is in the US, but here in the UK it's a lot easier to find a C2, and that may be where you end up with more choice on offer - get what has all the best work/extras/history etc..
