Default It started with 2 little leaks -

Last weekend I noticed that i had a leak at the rear of the car - and it appeared to be power steering fluid. So I put the car on the lift Friday night to be ready to work on the car Sat. Sat I noticed that I had a oil leak under the car at the front right - cooler area - So I started taking thinks apart to figure out were leaks were and what need to be done - then I noticed that I had a leak in the left side of my power steering unit. Well to make a long story short I order a rebuilt power steering unit - ( see pictures) Have pulled out the old power steering pump and am getting ready to replace with an electrical unit from a MR2- ( See pic ) Have pulled off all the major oil lines and am getting ready to take them to a shop for rebuild. ( see pics ) You know you need some big wrenches to work on the oil lines - Oh! forgot that along the way I have replaced the boots on the CVC joints and repacked with fresh grease. I thought I would be finished by Sunday - Well maybe a couple of Sundays from now -
Here are some pcis of project on going - Think i may do a few more things since I have gone this far.
OH! - Question - the canister on the left side rear fender well ( see pic) can this be removed with out any significant impact - believe it is just a charcoal filter - if I connect the in and out lines together should not have any major impact - YES?? or NO??

No idea on the charcoal filter but nice work in any case! I wish I had garage space so I could do more work on my car...

The elec power steering pump will fit opposite the brake fluid reservoir on the right side of the boot area. Will send pics when I get brackets made.
I obtained the rebuilt rack from Meridian Auto Parts in Cathedral City, CA.
Cost was around $450 plus a $375 core charge that you get back when you return the old rack. I found them after a web search.

993pet - could you do me a favor and send me a few pics. Since I have to figure out where to run the lines and how to make mount figure your pics could help me figure out options.
Thanks

Ok - I finally have gotten my oil lines rebuilt and converted to aeroquip hose - and AN fittings. I had to make one solid tube section from the oil thermostat unit going back to the oil filter - was alittle concerned about this as the tube bender would not match all the bends that porsche put in the OEM tube section at this location - but was able to work it out - It needed to be just a little longer to tie into the new hose and fitting anyway - I cut off all the hoses from the tubeing and replaced with a AN fitting that I silver soldered on. Then fabricated a hose line to fit as a replacement. See pic -

Maybe so - but on the oil cooler picture posted by itself - I rotated it to the right so the top was off to the right - that is how it posted . Originally, when viewed just before selecting to load it looked normal, but posted with top to left. - Just like the last picture of the black pipes - but then posted with top to the left
