Help removing intake manifolds
Gents,
I've stripped my fan and fan housing off for powder coating.
Plan was to take things further and remove the metal intake manifold sections to paint too.
Does anyone have a guide? Are they easy to strip without pulling the engine?
The two "hidden" screws holding the heater blower in place are proving a pain in the ***!
Cheers
Chris

Not a problem.
With the air cleaner off, it is a matter of disconnecting all the connectors (making/labeling them with tape if needed), throttle and cruise linkages, fuel lines, and loosening the 20 hose clamps around the intake. It comes right out. Also a perfect time to replace the oil breather, temperature, and pressure gaskets and o-rings. I also changed the o-rings under the three bolt flange mounts as mine were brittle and cracked with age.

There are 2 good threads on this ... Don't need to remove throttle body or cables if you just want to clean/remove the intakes. I posted in both threads so search HiWind and overfill or intake etc..

Will do folks,
Fan is going Guards, fan housing black and intake in red in colour, but with (hopefully a nice) twist.
Here's a good thread, thanks to HiWind :

Quick question folks...
The powder coater has two options for the black on my fan housing - gloss or satin.
I keep the black plastics in the 'bay clean and shiny with 303 Aerospace, however do you think that gloss black would look too much?
I dont want satin black if its going to be dull and boring tho!
